DogTag Petsitters Policies

  1. We do not walk multiple dogs together unless they are under 20 pounds or extremely obedient to walk in packs.

  2. We do not allow dogs off-leash for any reason unless the dogs are in their own fenced backyard or in a designated leash free zone such as a fenced in dog park if that is the service you request. DogTag Petsitters does not accept responsibility for any client's animals that escape or are lost or injured, fatal or otherwise, when instructed to leave the client's animals in a fenced in yard. This includes electronic, wood, metal, or any other type of fence.

  3. We do not share pet sitting assignments with other Petsitters or individuals.

  4. Pet Sitting visits are 7 days a week beginning at 7 a.m. The latest regular visits are scheduled at 7 p.m. Any visit exceeding 9:30 p.m. will be considered an overnight visit and will thus be charged as such.

  5. Visit Times: DogTag Petsitters will visit at the requested times as closely as possible. Due to overlapping of client schedules and caring for multiple pets, the times may be shifted to accommodate all of our clients needs. We will do our very best to arrive on time at the appointed times and will do our best to be informative of any late arrivals.

  6. Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, DogTag Petsitters has requested on your contract a name and phone number of a person living nearby. If Dogtag Petsitters is physically unable to visit your home due to impassable roads, please provide us with this information so that we can contact this person to request assistance. Your pets' health and well-being is our utmost concern and we will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed of these events.

  7. Vaccination/Immunizations: Dogtag Petsitters requires that all pets have the necessary vaccinations and immunizations prior to beginning services. We may ask to see expiration dates for rabies vaccinations.

  8. Unforseen Purchases: Dogtag Petsitters will purchase pet food, litter, cleaning supplies, or other necessary items that contribute to the health and well being of your pet while you are absent. You will be responsible for any purchases made providing proof of purchase and amount with receipts, and the pet owner is responsible for full reimbursement of these items. In addition, a $5.00 trip fee will be charged to the pet owner.

  9. Pet Waste: Dogtag Petsitters will properly dispose of pet waste. We do request that you have waste bags available for our use and designate with us, an appropriate means of disposal. For dogs or puppies that are not house-trained, we will clean up waste that is found as much as we can. Please provide us with the locations of cleaning supplies so we can do our best to clean up after your animals. We are not liable for any stains on carpet, furniture, or flooring made while they are in our care.

  10. Animal Behavior: Animal behavior can be unpredictable. Dogtag Petsitters does not accept any responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise which can result in injury to the clients' animals. Further, if a Dogtag Petsitter provider is harmed or injured by the client's animal, the client/owner accepts full responsibility for the cost of any necessary medical attention required to either the provider or two the animals. However, the client cannot be charged excessive penalties by Dogtag Petsitters other than medical bills, provided with receipts, for any treatments directly resulting from the incident (i.e. Hospitalizations, follow-up doctors appointments, medications, physical therapy, etc.).

  11. Household Emergencies: Please provide the name and phone number of trusted maintenance companies as well as a neighbor you can rely on to attend to any household emergencies that may arise during your absence. This includes, but is not limited to, leaking pipes, malfunctioning water heaters and heating units, weather complications, or emergencies prohibiting the provider to make the appointment, etc. It is advised that you inform these people that you will be out and that you have hired Dogtag Petsitter providers to watch your home in case of an emergency, this can reduce any confusion as well as provide the fastest and best care to your home and pets.

  12. Early Return/ Last Minute Changes: It is not unusual for trip plans to change last minute. However, please understand that Dogtag Petsitters carefully schedules appointments with you and our other clients and that it may not be possible to extend visitation times, however, with enough notice, it may be done. Any last minute additions within 24 hours notice will be charged an additional 25% to the additional visitation days. If more than 24 hours notice is given, you will only be charged the standard rates.

  13. If you are returning early, your total amount can be refunded if given more than 48 hours notice, if less than 48 hours notice is given, however, it is non-refundable. 24 hour notice is needed for day visits or mid-day walks. We ask for your consideration on this, due to having only a few service providers we are limited on the amount of clients we can serve at one point in time.

  14. Deposit: A 25% deposit is required at the time of reservation and upon signing the contract agreement.

  15. 100% payment is due if NO NOTICE is given.
